This year I realized I love dogs, but don't like puppies very much. Getting Sharktooth Flowerpoof the Unicorn Volcano (aka Sharky) was a highlight of 2023. He wasn’t exactly a writing win - sometimes more of a distraction. I keep saying, “he’s going to be a really good boy one day.” He’s 9 months old and 65 lbs.
Bernie, my “partner in crime” (aka the good dog) lays with his head on my feet when I write crime fiction. Training Sharky will not be easy but dogs are worth it. (I think. Ask me in a year.)
